Must Try App: WhatFont

Ok so it isn’t really an app per se, but it is definitely 100% awesome.  Have you ever wondered what font a website uses?  I do all of the time.  Sometimes I know what one it is, but need to verify that I am right.  I stumbled across this awesome bookmarklet today called WhatFont.  Within 10 seconds, it was installed and telling me what font was being used.  I just had to share it!

Here is a screen grab of it in action on my blog:

Then when you click, you get more info:

Must Try Apps for iPhoneography Part 1

Let me start by saying that I know I am not a photographer. I enjoy taking photos of pretty things and my skills are getting better all the time! I recently took a photography workshop (for real cameras) and have been practicing.  In the meantime, I will continue to use my iPhone for my blog photos (hopefully it’s not too obvious)! Apps like Afterlight and Snapseed help me elevate the quality of my iPhone photos in the meantime.

Here are some examples to show you the before and after (using either app):

This second one is more subtle, but the app allowed me to modify the exposure, saturation, and contrast to more accurately depict what I was seeing.

Later this week, I will share a couple more of my favorite apps for elevating iPhone photos and getting them blog and Instagram ready!

Must Try App: Waterlogue

I love apps! I especially love photography apps (29 and counting)! My last app recommendation was for Flipagram, a video app designed for Instagram. Today I am recommending that you check out a new one called Waterlogue.  The app takes your photos and turns them into watercolors.  It’s $2.99, but has been worth the money in my opinion.  There’s a reason it is in the Top Charts for Paid apps! I feel a little guilty putting some of our wedding photos through the app, but they are beautiful as photos and  and just plain fun as watercolors!

Some of my favorites so far:
