25 Days of Christmas Cookies: Candy Cane Blossoms

Day 9’s recipe comes from the back of a Hershey Kiss bag; the candy cane kisses to be more specific. It is no secret that Peanut Butter Blossoms are my favorite cookies, so I thought I had to try these candy cane ones.  They are essentially a puffy sugar cookie with a peppermint hershey kiss in the center.  Of all the recipes thus far, this one is the quickest!

Candy Cane Blossoms

Ingredients:

1 bag of Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses

1/2 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups flour

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons milk

Red and green sparkling sugar

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Beat butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until well blended.

3. Using a 1 inch cookies scoop, shape dough into balls. Roll in sugar and place on a cookie sheet.

4. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven and cool the cookies for 2-3 minutes.  While they cool, unwrap the kisses. After the 3 minutes, press the kisses into the cookies.  Move to a wire rack to cool completely.
